In Like a Lion. . .

Well, don't know about you guys, but March is off to a blustery start. Saturday was 80 degrees and windy, and Sunday started off beautifully. But. . .as weather in the Panhandle goes, don't hold your breath. In the time it took for us to eat lunch at the local Chinese restaurant, the weather turned nasty. The door to the North opened and in came the dirt and the cold. By this morning, we had a nice little cover of snow on the ground.

Believe it or not, we've all had a little touch of sickness. I know the rest of you have probably been well, as sickness has been so rare this year (I'm rolling my eyes here). It seems like we've been sick nonstop for forever, but I guess that's how it goes with 6 people under one roof. Cason and Colt have had runny noses and coughs off and on for two months. Every time we get cleared up, another cold front comes through and noses start running. Once Coley was well, Cagan started running fever-but only for a few days. Ryan is still battling the cough and congestion that came with the flu he came down with over a week ago.

It's already March (hard to believe!), so that means that a certain little boy (and daddy) had birthdays. This was a pic of Colt on his birthday, and that's the look he gives me when he's being really ornery. Last week, Colt turned 3 and Cason started walking. You wonder what the two have to do with one another. Well, in my little world of motherhood, that means that my babies are growing up--sniff, sniff. I get these little rude awakenings on occasion when the kids reach milestones. Such as, Coley will be going off to college in about 6 1/2 years. And, one of the girls in my sorority is 4 years closer to Coley's age than to my age (that just tells me that I'm getting old). And, Cagan brought home "homework" and books to read this past week--yes, he's already starting to learn to read in Pre-K.
Wow! I just remember when I was little the older people telling me that time moves faster the older you get. If it's moving this fast at thirtysomething, what's it going to be like when I'm 80? I just so love this season in my life, and I can't imagine my kids growing up and moving away. I keep teasing Ryan that I want another kid. Of course, he doesn't find it very funny!
It's getting late, so I'd better get in bed. I've got to get my newsletter finished and printed tomorrow and go vote, so it's going to be a busy day. Take care, and I'll get back to you soon!

Bite your tongue about more kids! A lady I babysit for has three ornery little boys and just found out she's now pregnant with twins! We're praying that they're girls, cuz I don't know how she'll handle 5 boys (the oldest is 6 or 7)! Love you all!
