Just trying to catch up . . .

Well, I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday and have started of the new year on the right foot. November and December were super busy for us. I can't remember when my last post was, but a lot has happened in the last few months, not much important but a lot, nevertheless. In case I haven't posted since then, Colt had his tonsils out the end of October. He was quite the little trooper. Tough as can be, that one (especially after taking a golf club to the head yesterday!).
Halloween was different for us this year as we missed the Harvest Festival and decided to take the kids trick-or-treating the old-fashioned way. I could take it or leave it, but the kids had fun. Cagan and Colt were cowboys, although Cagan was grounded and didn't actually get to trick-or-treat (yes, I know, mean ole mom!). Cason was a turkey, and, by far, the cutest one I've ever seen. I just loved his costume!
November flew by, and I don't really remember much except that we were extremely busy. We spent Thanksgiving with my family in Lamesa and Big Spring. It was wonderful, except for Ryan and Dad having to drive back to Dumas on Thanksgiving day to fix the ice house. Oh, yes, that's another new thing. Mom and Dad opened a Twice the Ice vending machine in Dumas. We take care of it and will start making a little money off of it once it starts taking off. We're ready for summer to get here!!

December was full as usual, but the most memorable day was December 5, my baby's 2-year old birthday!! Yes, Cason is 2 already! I'm in mourning. He's officially not a baby anymore! I keep trying to talk Ryan into another one, but he's not going for it. That's okay, for now. When I'm finally in my new house, he'll probably start feeling a little more urging!
Christmas was fun this year, although I never did quite get into the spirit. I only got about half my decorations up, but I enjoyed what little I did. Coley got a new bike from Santa and some other books and gift cards and stuff. Cagan loves toy horses, so he got a big barn and some Breyer horses from Santa. He was a little disappointed that Santa didn't bring his remote control monster truck, though. Of course, Santa knew Cagan pretty well and decided that he wasn't quite old enough for one yet (the poor child breaks everything he touches-including one of his horses!). Colt and Cason both got tractors from Santa, along with a host of other trucks and books and toys. And Ryan, well, he got the best gift of all of them, a new flat-screen tv. It was so much fun doing that for him (a difficult secret for me to keep, too). He works so hard, and because we've always been so short on funds, he usually gets things he needs, like jeans and shirts or tools (which he loves, too). He was thrilled, but now he's pestering me for a blu-ray. Men!! As for me, I got some neat wall decorations and a new purse and wallet, among other things. All-in-all, it was a great Christmas.

Ryan got a little rest over the holidays, but he's back at work in full force. He's got a guy helping him some, and we're hoping that it will become a full-time thing. Agustine's a neat guy and a great worker. He and Ryan get a long great (even will a little bit of a language barrier), and Ryan is much less stressed when Agustine is around.

We've gotten back into the swing of school, and it's going well. Cagan started a new phonics program, which he really likes. Colt and Cason and I go through the flash cards, and I'm pretty impressed with what they can do, especially Cason. Even though he refuses to talk, he'll say the letter, the sound, and some of the words. It's so cute!
Well, I'm going to try to get some pics posted, some from the past few months and a few others from throughout the year. Hope you all have a very blessed 2009! 'Til next time. . .
