Long Time, No Blog. . .

Well, it's been, what. . .four months since my last post? Shame on me! I was reminded this weekend that it hasn't changed in a while, so I thought I'd better get on the stick! An awful lot has happened in the past four months, so it's hard to know where to begin. . .

First of all, Colt's arm healed up wonderfully, and he only had to be in the cast for three weeks. He's blowing and going like it never happened.

Cason started crawling in August and is a very busy little boy. He's been pulling up for a while but finally started trying to stand this weekend. He's so precious, the best little baby.

Coley had an exciting summer. He spent a week at Quartz Mountain Christian Camp and then made a trip with his dad's family to Las Vegas for his dad's wedding. They came back through the Grand Canyon, and he really enjoyed all of it. School started the last week in August, and he's already earned almost 200 AR points.

Cagan's little world has been turned upside down since he started pre-k in August. He goes to a little consolidated school about 15 minutes from us and goes half-day every day. He doesn't tell me much except about eating lunch and snack and recess. But, occasionally, he mentions sign language or the sounds of letters or shapes, so I know he must be learning something! He even says he has a girlfriend that he's going to marry someday. She told her aunt that Cagan is "such a great guy"! Oh, dear . . . He also started soccer, and he played very well. It was almost too much for a little boy who doesn't like change, but he made it through okay.

Colt is being ornery as ever, but we've had some good almost one-on-one time since Cagan started school. When we're home, we spend our mornings playing, rocking, reading books, and singing "Jesus Loves Me." He's so sweet, but there are little horns coming out of that angel head! He's such a mess!!

As for Ryan and I, we are busy as ever. I am on the PTO committee and am responsible for the monthly newsletter and community involvement, amongst other things. I'm also sorority president this year and have been busy with all that entails. Needless to say, I think next year I'll just be an indian.

The most exciting news we have is Ryan's news!! Weekend before last, Ryan and I made a trip to Arlington so he could take a HVAC testing prep course and then take his test. Drum roll please . . .he passed his test on the first try!!! Yea! He's officially a licensed heating and air technician. That means that we are in the process of becoming Mathews Mechanical-Heating, Air, and Electrical Contracting. Please pray for a smooth transition for us, that the man he has been working under is easy to deal with, that the money comes in consistently, and that we make good decisions concerning the things we have to do to get started.

Well, that's about it for us for now. I'll try to remember to get on next week and upload pics from Halloween. Hope you all are doing well! Take care!
